Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy

The RAV4 Hybrid is a five-passenger compact crossover that Toyota offers in these seven grades: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Woodland Edition, SE, XSE, and Limited. This model’s efficient hybrid powertrain combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two electric motors to produce a total system output of 215 hp. The transmission is an electronic CVT, and all-wheel drive is standard. According to the official estimations done by the EPA, most trims return 41 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. The Woodland Edition is the exception, achieving 38 city/35 highway. The maximum towing capacity for the ’24 RAV4 Hybrid is 1,750 pounds.

Desirable Features

The base LE is set up well with automatic LED headlights, low-profile roof rails, remote keyless entry, three USB ports (one media and two charging), dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, a 60/40-split fold-flat rear seatback with a center armrest and cupholders, and a height-adjustable rear cargo area deck board. The XLE adds heated side mirrors with turn-signal and blind-spot warning indicators, front door handles with touch-sensor lock and unlock, push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, two more USB charging ports, and a cargo area with a 12-volt power outlet and tonneau cover. With the XLE Premium, you’ll get LED fog lights, a moonroof, a power liftgate, SofTex upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

The rugged Woodland Edition has black exterior accents, unique bronze-colored wheels, raised roof rails, a 120-volt power outlet, all-weather floor mats, and a rear activity mount that can support a bike rack or cargo carrier. The SE resembles the XLE, but with fabric upholstery, blue interior accents, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift knob. Meanwhile, the XSE contains a mix of the SE’s and the XLE Premium’s features, though it’s differentiated by a dramatic two-tone exterior, vertical LED accent lights, SofTex upholstery, heated front seats, blue ambient interior lighting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. The range-topping Limited is the epitome of luxury, adding LED fog lights, ventilated front seats, driver’s-side position memory, a power passenger seat, brown interior accents, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Many of those premium amenities can be ordered for some of the lower trims as options, as can a wireless phone charger and rain-sensing wipers.

Advanced Driving Aids

The Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 technology suite is standard in every 2024 RAV4 Hybrid trim. It includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The XLE and above grades get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while the Limited introduces front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking (these are available for the XLE Premium and XSE). For the XSE and Limited, a surround-view camera is offered.

Multimedia and Connectivity

The LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Woodland Edition, and SE have an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio, a six-speaker audio system, and a 30-day free trial for Wi-Fi hotspot access. With the XSE and Limited, a 10.5-inch touchscreen is standard, but while the XSE retains the six-speaker sound system, the Limited moves up to an 11-speaker JBL unit (optional for the XLE Premium and XSE). The XSE and Limited also get a one-year trail to Drive Connect (available for the other trims via paid subscription), supplying access to Cloud Navigation with Google Points of Interest, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist.
