Trims and Powertrains

If you’re interested in the 2024 Corolla Hybrid, you’ll have your choice of four trims: LE, SE, Nightshade, and XLE. Its efficient gas-electric powertrain unites a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack to create 138 combined horsepower. Drivers can choose between front- and all-wheel drive. A drive-mode selector with Normal and Eco settings comes with the LE and XLE, while the SE and Nightshade add third mode called Sport.

The best EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers come from the LE and XLE with FWD (53 city/46 highway). The SE and Nightshade are comparable, returning 50 mpg in the city and 43 on the highway. This sedan’s all-wheel drive numbers are still impressive at 51/city 44 highway for the LE and 47city /41 highway for the SE and Nightshade.

Standard Features

The LE has standard cloth upholstery, a 4.2-inch color information display, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, a 4-way adjustable passenger’s seat, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat with cup holders and an armrest, a 12V power outlet, four USB ports (2 in front, 2 in rear), automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, LED exterior lighting, a black front grille, color-keyed power outside mirrors, and 16-inch steel wheels. With the available Convenience Package, the Smart Key system, push-button start, and 16-inch alloy wheels are added, along with more safety features (listed below). The Premium Package retains those features and incorporates heated outside mirrors, a moonroof, and wireless device charging.

The SE adds front sport seats, push-button start, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, heated outside mirrors, a single exhaust with dual chrome tips, and 18-inch graphite alloy wheels. The Premium Package is also available with the SE, with the same features as the LE. The Nightshade has a fresh look with its black side rocker panels, black rear spoiler, black heated power outside mirrors, blackout badging, a black roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, and 18-inch bronze alloy wheels. The top-of-the-line XLE adds a 7-inch digital gauge display, SofTex-trimmed heated front seats, wireless device charging, a power tilt/slide moonroof, and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids

Toyota installs these high-tech driver aids in every Corolla Hybrid: standard forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, forward automatic emergency braking, cyclist detection, pedestrian detection, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, a rearview camera, and lane departure warning. The XLE also gets rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring, which can be added to the other trims via the Convenience Package.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Corolla Hybrid has a standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s used to manage wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker audio system. It also has a voice recognition feature. An optional JBL premium 9-speaker audio system with a subwoofer and amplifier can be added to the XLE.
