Trims and Powertrain

Buyers of the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross will have three trim choices: L, LE, and XLE. Under the hood of all is a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT manages the standard front-wheel drive (FWD) or optional all-wheel drive (AWD). The fuel economy for all trims is EPA-estimated at 31 mpg around town and 33 mpg on the open road with FWD and 29 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with AWD. When the Corolla Cross is properly equipped it can tow up to 1,500 pounds. Cargo space measures 24 cubic feet behind the rear seats on FWD models or 21.5 cubic feet with AWD.

Standard Features and Major Options

The L trim has fabric upholstery, manual air conditioning with rear-seat vents, LED headlights with auto on/off, heated power outside mirrors, a 4.2-inch driver information display, a tilt/telescopic steering column, intermittent windshield wipers, two USB ports, and 17-inch steel wheels with covers. The LE gets proximity keyless entry, single-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, wireless device charging, two additional USB ports, rear privacy glass, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, variable intermittent windshield wipers, an intermittent rear-window wiper, black roof rails, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The optional LE Moonroof Package also includes a cargo-area cover.

The XLE takes the Corolla Cross upscale with SofTex upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a ten-way power driver's seat. It also gets a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, full LED exterior lighting with fog lights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped shift knob, a cargo-area cover, a rear folding armrest, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The available XLE Convenience Package adds a power moonroof and a power liftgate.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is a driver-assist technology bundle that’s standard in every 2024 Corolla Cross. Its components are adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist join the safety equipment list for the LE and XLE. The XLE also gets front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking. All trims have multiple airbags, stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, hill start assist, Smart Stop Technology (to minimize unintended acceleration), and a rearview monitor (with dynamic guidelines on the XLE).

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every Corolla Cross trim has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and wireless smartphone connection (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay). The other features in this category are SiriusXM satellite radio, access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Toyota connected services, and a sound system with six speakers; the LE and XLE are eligible for an upgrade to a JBL sound unit with nine speakers. Cloud Navigation is also available on all trims via subscription.
