2024 Toyota Camry

24 camry

Overview

Few cars reach the level of respect that the Toyota Camry has enjoyed over the 40 years and eight generations of its existence. This trustworthy sedan has earned the reverence of not just drivers but mechanics as well, thanks to its uncommon reliability and longevity. This is just one reason it has led U.S. midsized sedan sales for the past 21 years.

That streak is expected to keep going with the 2024 edition of this much-loved four-door. The qualities mentioned above will continue to grace this agreeable car, and the ToyotaCare maintenance plan is still included. This complimentary service program awards buyers by covering routine service visits (tire rotations, oil and filter changes, and multipoint inspections) for 2 years/25,000 miles, along with round-the-clock roadside assistance for 2 years (no mileage cutoff).

Trim Levels and Mechanical Basics

The 2024 Camry trim lineup contains the LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, XSE, and TRD. You’ll find a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in the first five, which are all eligible for all-wheel drive in lieu of the standard front-wheel drive. As the performance-focused Camry, the TRD is strictly made with FWD and instead has a 301-hp (267 lb.-ft. of torque) 3.5-liter V6; the XLE and XSE can get this engine upgrade as an option. Every ’24 Camry uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel economy is a big factor in the Camry’s ongoing popularity. According to the EPA’s estimations, the combination of the base engine and FWD will yield 28 miles per gallon in city driving and 39 mpg on the highway. With AWD, the four-cylinder Camry’s ratings dip to 25 city/34 highway. The XLE and XSE trims with the elective V6 will achieve 22 city/33 highway, while the TRD with the weight of its additional equipment will give its driver 22 city/31 highway.

Standard and Available Features

The base LE has all a driver truly needs plus a few extras. That list includes remote keyless entry, fabric-clad seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, auto-on/off bi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, a 4.2-inch multi-information display, illuminated vanity mirrors, a USB-C charging port, a 12V power outlet, and a 60/40-split rear seatback with a central armrest that folds away.

The SE’s list grows with SofTex faux-leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated outside mirrors, and a chrome-tipped exhaust. The SE Nightshade Edition has the same stuff, but its appearance changes with black exterior accents and bronze-colored wheels. As mentioned, the XLE is eligible for the V6 upgrade. It also starts to ramp up on amenities, getting leather upholstery, heated front seats, Smart Key proximity keyless entry, a wireless phone charge pad, ambient cabin lighting, a 7-inch multi-information display, push-button start, heated outside mirrors with built-in blind-spot warning indicators, door handles with touch-sensor lock/unlock, a chrome-tipped exhaust, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and wood interior touches. Its second row is improved with its own heat/AC vents, LED reading lights, and adjustable headrests.

The XSE blends the sportiness of the SE with the amenities of the XLE, with the added style of patterned metal interior accents that replace the wood found in the lower trims. The TRD looks and sounds built for speed, with its more aerodynamic body (which also adds a front splitter, a rear diffuser, side skirts, and black exterior trim) and standard V6. Inside, it shows off red interior detailing, including a leather-wrapped shift knob with red contrast stitching, and aluminum sport pedals.

Toyota Safety Sense Driver Assist Bundle

Every ’24 Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ installed. This most current edition of the automaker’s safety technology suite contains dynamic radar cruise control, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The XLE and XSE add a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, which can be added to the LE, SE, and SE Nightshade as an option. The XLE and XSE also qualify for the available panoramic view monitor and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.

Staying Informed and Connected

The Camry’s infotainment system has a 7-inch touchscreen in the LE, SE, SE Nightshade, and TRD; the XLE and XSE move up to a 9-inch touchscreen. All trims have standard Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), and a sound system with six speakers. The XLE, XSE, and TRD may upgrade to a JBL sound system; the XLE and XSE are eligible for the navigation option.
