Trim Levels, Powertrain, and Performance

Four trim levels make up the ‘24 Corolla Sedan lineup: LE, SE, Nightshade, and XSE. They all have the same powertrain, a 169-horsepower, 2.0L 4-cylinder Dynamic Force engine mated to a Dynamic-Shift continuously variable transmission (CVT). A drive-mode selector lets the operator choose between Normal and Eco driving modes on the LE; the SE and above gain a Sport setting. The LE returns the best EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings at 32 mpg around town and 41 mpg on the highway, while all other trims return 31 city/40 highway.

Standard and Available Equipment

The LE provides a solid foundation of essential features, including LED lighting (headlights/daytime running lights/taillights), a keyless entry system, automatic climate control, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a 4.2-inch multi-information display, two USB ports in each row, and 16-inch steel wheels. The SE’s cabin has additions such as sport fabric inserts for the seats, a leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and metallic interior trim. On the exterior, the wheels are upgraded to 18-inch graphite-colored alloys, with the addition of a sport-mesh, gloss-black grille, daytime running lights with accent lighting, heated power outside mirrors, metallic sport side rocker panels, a color-keyed spoiler, a single exhaust with dual chrome tips, and a smart key system with push-button start.

The Nightshade stands out for its appearance, led by bronze-finished alloy wheels and these elements in black: the heated side mirrors, sport side rocker panels, rear spoiler, roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, and badging. The XSE goes back to the conventional Corolla Sedan look but adds wireless device charging, a 7-inch fully digital gauge cluster, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, SofTex upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a power moonroof with sliding sunshade, and blind-spot monitor warning indicators on the exterior mirrors.

Advanced Safety Features

All Corolla Sedans come standard with the Star Safety System, 10 airbags throughout the cabin, and a host of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver-assist features. Those technologies include automatic high beams, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, proactive driving assist, and road sign assist. The XSE also gets a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, which is available on the lower trims via an available package.

Multimedia and Connectivity

At the center of the Corolla Sedan’s dash is an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system that manages standard features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Bluetooth is added at the SE level. The Nightshade and XSE can upgrade to a JBL premium audio system with nine speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier as part of an optional package. All trims also get access to Toyota services such as Wi-Fi Connect with AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot, Safety Connect, and Service Connect, all with a free trial period.
