Trims and Powertrains

Toyota offers the Camry Hybrid in five versions, so there’s something for everyone. Buyers can choose from the LE, SE, SE Nightshade Edition, XLE, or XSE. Their power comes from a gas-fueled 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The combined output for the system is 208 horsepower. Camry Hybrids have a front-wheel-drive setup with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT). The EPA-estimated fuel economy for the Camry Hybrid LE is 51 mpg around town and 53 mpg on the open road. This changes to 44 city/47 highway for the other trims.

Standard Features and Option Packages

Starting off the Camry Hybrid range is the LE, which gets LED exterior lighting, automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, fabric seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, power-adjustable exterior mirrors, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, sound-reducing windshield glass, a 4.2-inch driver information display, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The SE adds sporty touches like black exterior accents, side rocker panels, a unique grille, SofTex upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 18-inch black-finish alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, dual exhaust tips, and heated power side mirrors. Options for both the LE and SE include a power moonroof and the Cold Weather Package (heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, plus heated power side mirrors for the LE). Additional black exterior accents and 19-inch bronze-finished alloy wheels differentiate the SE Nightshade from the SE.

The XLE adds luxury touches to the LE’s equipment roster with leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, heated power side mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an eight-way power front passenger seat, a 7-inch driver information display, wood interior accents, and ambient cabin lighting. This premium Camry Hybrid also comes with wireless device charging, 18-inch wheels, upgraded exterior lighting, a unique grille, rear seat vents, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an overhead console. Similarly, the XSE takes the SE to the next level by adding leather upholstery, heated front seats, gloss-black treatments on the 19-inch wheels and grille, an eight-way power front passenger seat, upgraded headlights and taillights, wireless device charging, a 7-inch driving information display, metallic interior trim, ambient cabin lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, second-row vents, and an overhead console. The options for the XLE and XSE include a power moonroof, a heated steering wheel, and the Driver Assist Package, described below).

Assistive and Safety Technology

All 2023 Camry Hybrids are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+. It features the latest driver-assist technology, including a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is included on the XLE and XSE and available on the other Camry Hybrids. The XLE and XSE can be upgraded with the optional Driver Assist Package for a head-up display, a surround-view monitor, and front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, plus ventilated front seats.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The standard infotainment setup for the LE, SE, and SE Nightshade has a 7-inch touchscreen display, a six-speaker audio system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa compatibility, SiriusXM satellite radio, USB ports, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Toyota connected services. A 9-inch touchscreen is optional on the LE and SE (which also adds wireless device charging) and standard on the XLE and XSE. The XLE and XSE can be upgraded with navigation and a nine-speaker JBL sound system.
