Trims and Powertrain

Toyota keeps it simple by offering the Corolla Hybrid in one trim, the LE. Its power comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motor pairing that makes 121 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drivetrain are standard. The EPA has estimated the ’22 Corolla Hybrid’s fuel economy at 53 miles per gallon in city driving and 52 mpg on the highway.

Standard Equipment and Options

The 2022 Corolla Hybrid is decked out with 15-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, and color-keyed power side mirrors. Some of its other noteworthy features are keyless entry/ignition, a six-way manually adjusted driver’s seat, a four-way manually adjusted front passenger seat, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, and a standard package of advanced driver-aid technologies (see the next section for details). Corolla Hybrid buyers can elect to add the Premium Interior Package, containing a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and SofTex leatherette upholstery.

Safety and Technology

All Corolla Hybrids are set up with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of advanced driver-assist features: a pre-collision system and pedestrian detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is optional.

The 2022 Corolla Hybrid’s infotainment system has a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth for hands-free phone use and audio streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio, one USB charge port, one USB media port, and access to Toyota’s telematics system for help in emergency situations.
