C-HR

2026 Toyota C-HR Hero

The first go-round for the C-HR started in 2018, where the subcompact crossover enjoyed a few years competing against the likes of the Honda HR-V. Toyota nixed the nameplate in 2022, only to bring it back this model year as an EV. This reimagined C-HR uses front and rear electric motors to combine for 338 horsepower, with the added appeal of standard all-wheel drive and a 4.9-second 0-to-60 mph time; regenerative braking paddles enhance the driving experience and do their part to add incremental power to the battery.

This zestier incarnation of the C-HR shows off Toyota’s distinctive hammerhead fascia along with a sporty rear end and a low stance. The modern interior centers around two screens: a digital gauge display mounted atop the dashboard, and a prominent 14-inch multimedia touchscreen. Upscale amenities such as wireless smartphone charging and heated front seats come standard, and the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite offers a broad slate of driver-assistance technologies. But as much fun as it is to drive, it also gives you everything you look for in a crossover: seats for five or as much as 59.5 cubic feet of cargo space (25.3 with all seats in use), and 8 inches of ground clearance despite its low profile. A North American Charging Standard (NACS) port and dual-level cord provide versatile charging options at home or on the road.
