Trims, Powertrain, and Performance

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 is a compact five-passenger crossover offered in four nicely equipped trims: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, and Limited. Each gets a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 203 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque; it pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, but all-wheel drive (AWD) is available to boost traction on challenging terrain or in inclement weather.

According to the EPA, RAV4s with FWD will achieve an estimated 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, while AWD versions pull off 27 mpg city/33 mpg highway. The ’25 RAV4 can also tow up to 1,500 pounds, making it ideal for pulling a small trailer.

Equipment by Trim Level

The LE has a nice medley of standard features, including fabric upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, single-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, three USB ports, a 60/40-split reclining fold-flat rear seatback with a center armrest and cupholders, a height-adjustable rear cargo deck board, remote keyless entry, LED lights (headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights), rear privacy glass, power side mirrors, and intermittent windshield wipers. The XLE adds some upscale touches in the form of a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, unique polygonal upholstery accents, Smart Key (proximity entry), push-button ignition, two additional USB ports, a cargo-area tonneau cover, low-profile black roof rails, heated side mirrors with turn-signal and blind-spot indicators, automatic-on/off LED headlights, and variable intermittent windshield wipers.

The XLE Premium steps up the refinement with SofTex (simulated leather) upholstery, soft-touch interior materials, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a power tilt-and-slide moonroof with one-touch open/close, a power liftgate, and LED fog lights. The top-of-the-line Limited gains heated and ventilated front seats, position memory for the driver’s seat, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, blue ambient interior lighting, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, dark-brown interior accents, and puddle lights embedded in the side mirrors.

Advanced Safety Features

Every ’25 RAV4 is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, a full suite of advanced driving aids that includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The XLE and XLE Premium add a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, which is an optional upgrade for the LE. As the range-topping RAV4, the Limited gets front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking (optional for the XLE Premium) and is eligible for a 360-degree panoramic view monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Toyota Audio Multimedia system in the LE, XLE, and XLE Premium consists of an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a six-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The Limited upgrades to a 10.5-inch touchscreen and an 11-speaker JBL audio system, both of which are optional for the XLE Premium. Not only that, but the Limited comes with a one-year trial subscription to Toyota’s Drive Connect service, offering Cloud Navigation with Google Points of Interest, Intelligent Assistant with “Hey, Toyota” functionality, and Destination Assist.
