Trims, Powertrain, and Performance
Toyota’s feather-light GR86 is a rear-drive sport coupe offered in three trims: Base, Premium, and Hakone Edition. Each employs a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. To the delight of performance enthusiasts, a six-speed manual gearbox is standard, while an automatic tranny with paddle shifters is optional across the board. With the stick shift, the ’25 GR86 hits 60 mph from zero in 6.1 seconds (6.6 seconds with the automatic).
According to the EPA’s official estimates, the manual GR86 returns 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the automatic version achieves 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway.
Standard Features
Even the base GR86 is packed with impressive features. For performance, it provides circuit-tuned shock absorbers, a rear stabilizer bar, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and 17-inch wheels with Michelin Primacy HP summer tires. Infotainment and Connectivity
