2025 Toyota Crown
2026 Toyota
Crown
The 2026 Crown brings hybrid efficiency – offering up to 41 combined mpg – and performance, exclusively
in all-wheel-drive (AWD). This luxury sedan presents plenty of upscale amenities, including standard
heated and ventilated leather seats and an available panoramic fixed-glass roof. Drivers who want
performance attributes from their gas-electric sedan should take note of the Platinum trim’s dynamic
rear steering, adaptive variable suspension, and Hybrid MAX turbocharged engine, which cranks out 340
combined horsepower. Two-tone exteriors and the dark-themed Nightshade version provide a unique look for
drivers seeking distinction. For the 2026 model year, the new Finish Line Red replaces Supersonic Red as
a solid and two-toned option in the color lineup.
Like all new Toyotas, the 2026 Crown adds value
with ToyotaCare no-cost maintenance, which covers two years or 25,000 miles of regular factory-scheduled
maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, and multipoint inspections) and two years (unlimited miles) of
24-hour roadside assistance.
Trims and Powertrain
The all-wheel drive (AWD) 2026 Crown comes in four trims: XLE, Limited, Nightshade, and Platinum. The
XLE, Limited, and Nightshade get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that joins forces with front and rear
electric motors to yield 236 net combined horsepower. These three trims also have electronic on-demand
AWD and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Platinum pairs the
front and rear electric motors with a Hybrid MAX 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine (264
horsepower, 332 lb.-ft. of torque), churning out a combined net 340 horsepower. The Hybrid MAX
powertrain swaps the electronically controlled CVT for a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the
drivetrain replaces the electronic on-demand AWD with full-time electronic AWD.
The three lower
trims return 42 mpg city and 41 mpg highway, while the Platinum gets 29 city/32 highway mpg. The XLE,
Limited, and Nightshade feature selectable eco, normal, sport, and EV drive modes, while the Platinum
trades EV mode for rear comfort and custom drive modes. All trims are equipped with integrated
regenerative braking, ventilated 12.9-inch front disc brakes, solid 12.5-inch rear disc brakes with a
hydraulic brake booster, an independent MacPherson strut front suspension, and a multi-link rear
suspension (both with stabilizer bars). The Platinum alone adds adaptive variable suspension and dynamic
rear steering for the ultimate in responsive handling.
Standard Equipment
The XLE receives leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support, an
8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated and ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital

The Limited
adds position memory to the driver’s seat, along with quad-LED projector auto on/off headlights, and a
panoramic fixed-glass roof with a power sunshade. Digital Key smartphone capability and 21-inch 10-spoke
dark metallic alloy wheels are optional. The Nightshade includes the same amenities as the Limited, but
with dark exterior accents and badging and 21-inch 10-spoke wheels with a matte-black finish. The
Platinum tops the lineup with a 10-inch head-up display, Digital Key smartphone technology, and 21-inch
10-spoke machined-finish alloy wheels with black accents. A two-tone exterior is also available in four
colors paired with black.
Safety Tech
Every 2026 Crown is equipped with Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 suite, which includes proactive drive assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, lane departure with steering assist, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is included as well, along with a vehicle proximity notification system, hill start assist control, safe exit alert, a rear-seat reminder, a backup camera with dynamic gridlines, and collision sensors to deactivate the high-voltage battery. The Limited and Nightshade have front and rear park assist with automatic braking, and the Platinum upgrades to advanced park and receives a panoramic view monitor with a 360-degree overhead view (available on the Limited).
Infotainment and Connectivity
The XLE’s infotainment setup includes a 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen with six speakers, wireless smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio capabilities, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The higher trims move to an upscale 11-speaker JBL sound system with an amplifier and subwoofer.
