2025 Toyota Corolla FX

Overview
The 2025 model year promises a twist on the ever-popular Corolla. Toyota, the world’s largest automaker, is getting set to introduce the Corolla FX. This sporty adaptation pays tribute to the 1987 Corolla FX16, a car that shook up the industry with its sophisticated engine and sprightly performance. But before the four-door 2025 Corolla FX sedan reaches driveways, we’re giving you a look at it with the information that Toyota has released so far.

Trim and Powertrain
The FX will be a mid-tier entry in the 2025 Corolla range, sitting above the SE on which it’s based, and below the loaded XSE. While the original FX16 had a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, the 2025 Corolla FX will have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. This 16-valve, twin-cam engine (like the FX16 had) puts out 169 horsepower, far beyond the 102 ponies produced by the FX16’s powerplant; it’s shared with other 2025 Corolla sedan grades. The result is a 2025 Corolla FX that’s spirited yet still economy-minded, with manufacturer-estimated fuel economy of 34 combined MPG. The Corolla FX’s front-wheel drivetrain will be managed by a continuously variable transmission (CVT). And although this is a compact car, its 13 cubic feet of trunk space will make it practical for grocery runs and road trips.
Standard Features
Building upon the features of the Corolla’s sporty SE trim, the FX benefits from lowered springs for a more aggressive stance and improved cornering. A specially tuned electric power steering system will also maximize its handling. An upgraded rear spoiler, unique exterior treatments, and 18-inch satin-black alloy wheels add even more attitude. The differentiations continue inside with fabric-covered sport seats accented with orange stitching, plus a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Standard proximity keyless entry and push-button ignition will make it easy to get in and go.
Toyota’s designers went with a blacked-out roof finished in Midnight Black Metallic to underscore the Corolla FX's racy nature. Buyers can choose the same color for a monochromatic look or go with Ice Cap (white) or Underground (charcoal gray) for a two-tone street presence.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
The 2025 Corolla FX comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, a collection of advanced driver assistance technology, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, proactive driving assist (enhanced steering and braking support), lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, road sign assist, and automatic high beams. Information on additional standard and available driver tech is forthcoming.
Infotainment
One of the most significant changes for the 2025 Corolla lineup will be the availability of a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. This display is set as standard equipment on the FX grade, while other trims can be upgraded from the base 8.0-inch touchscreen. The larger unit becomes a cabin focal point, making access to entertainment, connectivity options, and vehicle settings more convenient.
