2024 Toyota GR Corolla

Overview
When your new car purchase includes a complimentary one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association with one free High Performance Driving Experience, you know you’re getting a different type of ride. The GR Corolla (GR stands for Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division) is a hot hatch with aggressive styling, even more aggressive performance, and superior handling. If you’re a driving enthusiast who goes from point A to point B with a little extra personality, this might be the car for you.
For the new model year, Toyota has restructured the 2024 GR Corolla lineup by introducing the Premium trim. This debuting mid-level grade has simulated leather upholstery, red brake calipers, and front/rear Torsen limited-slip differentials (continue reading to learn about its other key features). Blue Flame, an eye-catching paint color first made popular by the RAV4 and Corolla Sedan, is now an option for the Circuit Edition. Tuners, take note: the GR Corolla can be outfitted with available parts like lowering springs, performance shocks, and a rear sport wing (Core and Premium trims).

Trims, Powertrain, and Performance
Buyers of the 2024 GR Corolla have three trim choices: Core, Premium, and Circuit Edition. Their powertrain pairs a 1.6-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine (300 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque) with a 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching. This hot hatch can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.99 seconds and has a top track speed of 142.9 mph. The EPA has estimated the fuel economy ratings to be the same across the board: 21 mpg around town and 28 mpg on the highway.
Each grade is equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD). This special system is Toyota’s GR-FOUR AWD, which has three selectable power-distribution settings: Front, Rear, and Track. While the Core has open differentials, the Premium and Circuit Edition come with front/rear Torsen limited-slip differentials for enhanced traction control. Other standard equipment includes GR circuit-tuned electric power steering and a GR sport-tuned suspension that features a MacPherson-type strut front and double-wishbone-type multi-link rear.
Standard Features
Michelin Pilot Sport high-performance summer tires are standard on every GR Corolla trim, as are remote keyless entry, triple exhaust outlets with brushed stainless-steel tips, LED lighting (auto headlights/fog lights/daytime running lights/taillights), power side-view mirrors, aluminum sport pedals, a 12.3-inch digital multi-information display, automatic climate control, two USB charging ports, and a 12-volt power outlet.
The Core also gets 18-inch gloss-black 15-spoke cast-alloy wheels, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, GR badging in the headrests, front sport seats, fabric upholstery, and gray accent stitching across the interior accents and seats. The Premium has heated front sport seats upholstered in Brin Naub simulated leather, a heated steering wheel, wireless device charging, 18-inch gloss-black 10-spoke forged-alloy wheels, and red-painted brake calipers with the GR logo. The Circuit Edition has a forged carbon-fiber roof, a hood bulge, functional gloss-black air vents, a gloss-black side rocker-panel graphic, blue contrast stitching throughout the interior, a leather-trimmed shift knob with a blue accent stripe and forged carbon insert, and Circuit Edition badging.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
In addition to a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, the ‘24 GR Corolla comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite. Those technologies consist of automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, and road sign assist. The Premium and Circuit Edition add front/rear parking sensors.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Every ‘24 GR Corolla is well connected thanks to standard technology like Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, all managed through an 8-inch color touchscreen. Trial subscriptions to SiriusXM satellite radio and Toyota connected services are also standard. Both the Premium and Circuit Edition upgrade to a JBL premium audio system with an amplifier and eight speakers.
